Oatmeal Pecan Breakfast Bars

This has a fair bit of sugar in it, but it's one of only about three things I know Talmage will eat.  Everyone else loves it too.


Oatmeal Pecan Breakfast Bars

3 cups rolled oats
3/4 cup brown sugar
½ cup pecans, chopped fine
½ tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
6 Tbsp butter, melted
1 cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
¼ tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, pecans, salt, baking powder and cinnamon.  Add remaining ingredients and mix well.  Pour into greased 9x13 pan.  Bake 35-40 minutes or until set and edges are brown.  Cool slightly before serving.  To serve, cut squares (like a brownie) and place in individual bowls. Top with warm milk.
